Is your address hidden in Google?

If yes, then you may experience an issue when trying to generate your review link. Hidden addresses prevent Google from returning the necessary information in the API results that the tool depends on.

But don't worry, we have a workaround for you friend!

We will need your Google Place ID. If you happen to already have this saved then you can skip to step 5!

In order to find your Google Place ID:

1. Go into your browser and search Google for your business name, city, and zip/postal code.

2. Find the "Write a Review" button in the Knowledge Panel of your GMB listing.

3. Right Click on "Write A Review" and select "Inspect":

4. If this is new to you, this may look scary, stick with me, I know you can do it!

Search for data-pid.

In order to easily search you can use Cmd+F (on Mac) or Ctrl+F (on Windows). Type data-pid and it will highlight the result we are looking for. Copy the String of letters after the = in quotation marks (you can do this by double clicking anywhere on that string of letters and right clicking and selecting copy)

Congratulations, you have found your Google Place ID

(Hint: Save this somewhere so you can easily find it next time you need it)

5. Now that you have your Google Place ID, copy this into Whitespark's Google Review Link Generator by clicking "Try This" and pasting your Google Place ID. Click Submit:

6. Enter a custom shortname representative of your business, and your email address. Click Submit.

(Hint: if you do not enter a shortname we will create a random suggestion for you)

7. You now have a custom review link and QR code that will direct people straight to the "Write a Review" section of your Google Business Profile. This will also be emailed to you for future use. Use this link/code in your marketing, in your store, on business cards, or anywhere else you can think of to skyrocket your Google Reviews.
