Google will be shutting down their hosted GBP website feature on March 1st, 2024. However, it is very easy to get your website back up-and-running on Local Platform โ€” it only takes a couple minutes.

Step 1 - Sign up

Sign up to Local Platform (for only $1/month!) and import your Google Business Profile that you used to create your website.

Click "Manage Locations" to see the list of all the locations you imported.

Make sure GBP Management is ON

Step 2 - Enable your website

Navigate to your newly imported location's location details page, and click "Manage website" to get to the website feature.

You will be prompted to choose a website address. Choose something unique that your customers will recognize as your business when they see it in the URL bar. You can use the same subdomain as you used on Google! For example if you previously used joes-pizza.business.site you can select joes-pizza.mybusiness.site!

Step 3 - Complete website details

Most of your new website will be automatically generated from the data on your Google Business Profile, however there are a couple steps you will have to complete yourself.

1. Select your theme (pick the same one from your current site to preserve your site's appearance).

2. If you have a "Headline" or "Description" set in your existing Google website configuration, copy and paste those values into the "Header configuration" section in the Local Platform website builder.

3. If you have a "Summary Title", "Summary Content" set in your Google website configuration, copy and paste those values into the "Body" section in the Local Platform website builder.

Step 4 - Kick back and celebrate ๐Ÿฅณ

You're done! Congrats on your brand new website.

You should be able to visit your website live at the URL you selected. Don't forget to update your links around the web, and on your Google Business Profile to reflect your new homepage address.
