Should I accept or reject a change?

Oftentimes it will be obvious what action should be taken dependent on the update detected by Local Platform. Simple changes, like an update to the website, will be easy to determine if the change was appropriate.

Sometimes you will receive a notification of an update and may be confused by which action you should take. For example, Google might switch your primary and secondary phone numbers or add services, only some of which make sense. What should you do?

When you accept a reject a change, Local Platform will update your Google Business Profile to match your choice.

When you accept an update: Local Platform will store the new value for the field in our system, and then push it back to Google to mark the update as "accepted".

When you reject an update: Local Platform will push the existing values back to Google, to overwrite the update they've made.

If you are ever confused about an update and aren't sure what the effect of accepting or rejecting it would be, the safest thing to do is simply in your Location screen, edit your location information to what you want it to be, and then reject any changes to that field. Rejecting a change will push the information currently in Local Platform back to Google, so as long as it contains the correct information you can freely reject updates.
